We bought a second home on Cape Cod last year. Some would say we over paid, but we love the house. In order to defray some of our expenses, we decided to rent it, as a summer rental. Other houses in our neighborhood are renting too, and the extra money has been great. There are a lot of things to think about when doing summer rental, mostly because the people who rent from you change weekly, different people means some adults, some kids, some older people, etc. And so we worried how this would effect our insurance policy and rate. Talk to the guys at Guard Insurance is my advice. It was easy, and more importantly they are knowledgeable, helpful and available. This year, one year later, I of course went through the ordeal of repricing our insurance, to see if I could save some money. I called around, quoted and requoted, and in the end, already have the best deal for the coverage we need with Guard.
