Talk to the owner, Dr. Shah, he's very knowledgeable and genuine. He told me he did not want my insurance to get in the way of me getting the care I needed, so he would work with me to make it happen. Like most people, I really appreciated that. He knows and works with all of the Bay Area sleep physicians and so knew exactly how to get a copy of my sleep study and the office manager was on top of all that. I live locally so it was not a big deal for me to visit for my follow up care and device adjustments. But the funny thing is my friend all the way from Sonoma actually referred me to him because she had driven down to start treatment and was referred by her dentist. \r

So, I was diagnosed a few yeas back but never really got anywhere with the treatment. CPAP just was tough and I wasn't going to keep beating a dead horse. Surgery is not going to happen, because of all the surgeries I have had in my life, none of them seem to do the job and I am not going to get anything near my face or throat cut open. I was actually referred to Dr. Shah- not by my sleep physician (who never mentioned this treatment to me), but by my PCP (dr. Perkins, MD- at Good Samaritan (btw.. he's the best!), but I never really followed through due to my schedule. Dr. Shah's name came up again when I was talking to a Specialist from STanford who told me she had heard of him, and then when Angie (Sonoma friend) brought up the same person, I finally decided I had to go. \r

So things have been very smooth. THe insurance took a few weeks to finally approve it- but they did! and the appliance took another few weeks to fabricate but I'm using it, my snoring is down, my quality of sleep generally is much better. I am waking up only once/night as supposed to 3-4 times before. I still have not gone for my follow up sleep study (scheduled in a few months), but when I do I will update my post here. \r

I am not sure what the last reviewer wrote regarding the office being cold. I think he may have moved because the address on CitySearch is different. I went to 175 Jackson. Anyways, they have 3 locations in Fremont, Los Gatos also. But the staff is super nice and always offer me water when I go and accommodate my hectic schedule on multiple reschedules. Lots of personal attention, which I appreciate the effort! So, not much more you can ask for. This isn't one of those all marble medical/dental offices though, but not sure anyone would want that anyways.
