Review content:
Before Haven at Odenton Gateway replaced the management to Greystar, the place was awesome. Always greeted with wonderful amentities, rental office people always helpful, pleasant. When I first moved there, it was only one other person in the building, that's how new the complex was. Everything at your fingertips, food, shopping, skating, even getting work done on your car. When you first got there, there were all sorts of nice perks, like government workers would get 5% off. Since it was a new complex, I did not think it would go up in the first year, so I looked forward to my decrease of 5%, instead and under new management, they went up, where even with the 5% you still had to pay more. I didn't think it was fair for those tenants who were there in the beginning. Then, and with the increase, I called to see why the increase was so much. They spoke as if I had invaded their privacy and was asking a question from the great beyond. Then there was the government shutdown, so I asked whether any consideration was being given to those who were affected, they looked at me with a smile and said no. Now, people like verizon, and the new complex I'm going to made allowances, along with so many others, but not Greystar. They sent emails for me to reconsider, how they would renegotiate my lease, but when I asked about the amount of notice I would have to give if I left the Haven, at first the lease office told me one month, when I called back it was two months. So now they have me paying for a month, where when I asked I could have given proper notice then. I believe it was done to obtain more money, then told me I could leave whenever I got ready, and it made no difference whether it was death, deployment I still had a legal obligation to pay. Now and with that said, would you still stay there with options like that? I turned in my notice, they are still charging me for an extra month, but I'm going. At first 5 stars, now two stars, and at the rate they are going, it will continue to decrease.
