Review content:
My wife and I started our home search a few moths before we were actually ready to buy. We contacted a few agents that were recommended by friends asking for guidance and seeking to find someone who we felt was a good fit for us. Surprisingly, none of them seemed to have much interest in building a relationship with us. Then a friend recommended the Realty Austin website and we began browsing it to get a feel for the market. Shortly thereafter I was contacted by Kevin McCarthy. Kevin offered to meet with my wife and me to explain the home-buying process and to educate us about the many steps we would need to take as we endeavored to purchase our first home. After meeting with Kevin, it became apparent to us that we were more prepared than we had first thought. We began searching for a home with renewed enthusiasm. Kevin showed us about 20 houses and was very knowledgeable about the neighborhoods in Round Rock and Pflugerville. He pointed out details about the condition of the houses we looked at and helped us to avoid several pitfalls. He was also very responsive to our requests to view properties on weekends and after business hours. His guidance was solid and it was apparent that he was committed to helping us find just what we were looking for. We made offers on five houses and came to understand just how competitive the market can be. Our fifth offer was accepted and we closed on our first home on September 30, 2013 on schedule and with very little stress. Kevin was there every step of the way and you can bet that the next time we set out to buy a house, we will work with Kevin again.
