Review content:
This place is great. I'm annoyed that the only rating that shows up in some places is a year old review by milinz since that almost prevented me from seriously looking here (note - I'm posting this on multiple review sites since I really think this milinz post is misleading and want to balance it out!)\r \r Almost 1.5 years ago, we got all new flooring in our ~1800sqft home. New vinyl in bathrooms, new carpeting (including 2 sets of stairs), and new wood in the kitchen (newly extended into the dining room in place of carpeting). I waited so long to review for two reasons:\r 1) I wanted to see how things held up. Our initial experience was excellent in store but I'm not a trusting person so I always think someone is trying to pull the wool over my eyes when they are being overly nice. Turns out these guys really just are that nice!\r 2) I was actually not satisfied with my wood install and I was putting off a review until I made up my mind on how I felt there. More on that later and why I still give 5 stars!\r \r First off, the price was great. They easily beat out a bid I got from Great Floors without me even telling them about it, while giving better quality material and being much nicer to work with.\r \r The vinyl was awesome. They guy who did it couldn't have been nicer - I think I heard he's even the owner's brother. He ripped up our old stuff, helped level the concrete in our basement floor around the toilet that caused the old stuff to blacken, and spent a lot of extra time explaining things to me and answering any questions I had (like whether or not to caulk around the base of the toilet). More great things but I'm not writing a book here...\r \r The carpeting was equally awesome. We got this extra soft new-ish fiber in our living room and a matching color of cheaper (but quality) carpet for the rest of the house. A year in and there isn't the slightest hint of wear patterns, it all feels great, and we spend most of our time laying on our living room floor these days.\r \r About the wood flooring mentioned earlier, I'm not a hard wood guy and even though they warned me that all hard wood dents and scratches I happened to pick one I thought showed it more. I grumbled about this with my wife until I finally emailed them about it. 1.5 years later and they still came out to my place and checked it out, brought some samples of my wood and their hardest wood and let me drop a big tape measure (heavy one!) on each of them -- they actually dented the same. The problem all seemed to be in the color I got and the lighting in my kitchen which made it a bit more noticeable than the darker (and harder) wood. The guy who came out (the owner I think) spent a full hour with me talking about hard wood, the options, etc and was willing to work out a deal with me if I wasn't happy. In the end the floor still looked and felt good so I wasn't about to rip it up for some dents and he made me a great deal with email validation if I ever want to replace it in the future. Basically, 1.5 years after the sale the owner spent an hour with me going over every detail until I was happy, and I am. I can with clean conscience give a full 5 stars to this company (and I'm searching around for where I can post this to try and flush that one bad review away!!)\r \r They kept telling me they weren't in the business for a quick sale, that they have been in the area for years (30? 40? it was a lot), and their goal is for me to be happy enough that if I ever need flooring again I'd come to them first next time too. I will.
