We have had chinese from nearly every restaurant in Goose Creek, and China Chef is by far the WORST. We picked up Chicken Noodle soup tonight, and there was a substance that was not readily identifiable in the soup. AND, there was no chicken. I called the restaurant, and she said the cook is "new, and he try something different", and I said he "try something terrible", and it is NOT CHICKEN. From what I can tell, they have tried their hand at imitation meat. I'm assuming because soup is inexpensive, and they were hoping I wouldn't notice, but the texture of this meat-substitute is absolutely nauseating. I will NEVER, EVER, EVER go back to China Chef, and I would not feed this to my Silky Terrier. Number One kitchen on Redbank Rd. in the Food Lion plaza is EXCELLENT for take out. The quality FAR exceeds the garbage that they're peddling at China Chef. There is NO chef at China Chef. He's a scientist, and not even a good one.
