Review content:
I have a giant family (20+ people) in Colorado. Even with 2 Ski Boats and a Jet Ski, we never have enough room for everyone. So every time we go to a reservoir, we end up renting a pontoon for the kids and people that are not going to wakeboard, tube, etc. This year, we decided to try Horsetooth Reservoir and rent a pontoon from the Inlet Bay Marina. They gave us all the rules, we signed the paperwork and off we went to pick up the kiddos and coolers from our camp site right around the corner. Little did we know, that as we were pulling out of their slip, the owner had an employee get into a boat and follow us. We got the pontoon over to our area and with the rules in mind (no beaching, no boats allowed too close, etc) we got close enough so that the kids could swim over and get on and the adults could carry the coolers over. Next thing we know, the boat that was following us, drove over and said, “you are done. Please return the pontoon back to the marina.” We went back to the Marina to find out what just happened and the owner did not want to hear a word we had to say. According to him, we broke the contract by getting too close to the beach and we had now forfeited our $500 damage deposit and still had to pay a 2 hour minimum. He would not hear us or talk to us. And he just walked away with our $700. I would NEVER recommend this marina. Customer Service is not a priority with them. I wonder how many other people this has happened to and if this is a little scam the Marina is pulling to make money without actually renting out their pontoons. They also HIGHLY recommend you rent one of their captains. We have plenty of boat experience, having 2 of our own, and we rent pontoons about 4 times per summer if not more. Therefore, we felt that we didn’t need a captain. Horrible, horrible, horrible company. Check Ft. Collins for your needs before using these guys.
