The Boone County Jail has a major ""Theft"" problem that has been going on for months. The process of dealing with the inmates is VERY CONDUSIVE to outright theft and that's what is happening!!!\r When arrested a person has to give up their jewelry, and all earthly possessions. Those possessions are supposed to be returned when they are dismissed or released.\r The person being released stands before a closed in area. The person handling the release .... asks the release to sign on an electronic pad.\r The releasee does not actually receive their goods at that time but has to sign saying that they did get their possessions back. What could possibly be wrong with that? \r When the release discovers that their jewelry etc is not in the purse or possessions, they go back to question why they did not get their stuff back. The Boone County person says ""You signed that you got you stuff back. We have electronic signature showing that you did get your stuff back."" How can you argue with that?\r Many of the arrestees are feeling the pains of sobering up and are not thinking clearly. At AA meetings you hear many stories of what has been stolen by the Boone County jail system.\r They stole more than $ 2000 worth of jewelry from my daughter. The lawyers in Boone County know this is going on but they are doing nothing about it. Maybe you folks csan help the public.
