Review content:
I had a horrible experience with The Spoiled Lady, and I hope no one else has to endure the months of stress, disappointment, money, and time that this place cost me. I am not a wedding diva type--I simply wanted a pretty dress that fit me. There were major errors in alterations that ruined my dress and a complete lack of concern from the owners and the seamstress. Although I live in Nashville, I chose the Spoiled Lady in Columbia because they had the dress that I was looking for at the best price. However, it needed some alterations, and I was assured repeatedly by the owner, salesperson, and seamstress it was no problem to fit the dress to my size.During my first fitting, the wedding dress was gaping open in a way that was embarrassing and unacceptable. The seamstress, Kay, just looked at me nonchalantly, and said, “You’re too small for the dress. I can’t do anything.” She showed no empathy or desire to help. The owner as well stood by and watched this conversation and said there were no returns on dresses. We persuaded her to try again. She also never took measurements so I had to make a 1-hour drive on four different occasions. The final time she did not show up for the appointment. The salespeople kept saying she was just running late. However, when I called the seamstress, she said that she was not coming to the store, and the dress was there. When I tried on the dress,it seemed as if she had altered the dress in spite. She sloppily and hideously chunked both sides UNEVENLY. The salesperson apologized profusely, but could do nothing. Although the seamstress ruined the top and never even touched the bottom of it as promised, I decided that I could not trust the seamstress to make any further damages to the dress. I paid full price for my dress and the alterations, and I took the dress home. The owner was made aware of the problem, but she gave me no apologies or returned money.I get that mistakes happen, but the disrespect I endured was unacceptable
