I took my 2006 Mercedes ML350 to Lenexa Automotive on 9/5 because we heard a squeaking noise when accelerating with the air condiitionor on, and we were going to take a trip on 9/7. They called to say that they did not find the noise, but the code on the electronic test indicated that the battery is bad. Told him battery was replaced less than 2 years ago, was a 60 month battery, and should be good. Using caution, we replaced the battery. They did not identify any noise. They also said that the indicator light was coming on because the sensor was too fast for the electronics. On 9/7, we got to Council Bluffs, IA where the air conditioner stopped working as we drove. Shortly after entering Omaha, a loud grinding sound started. I stopped and noted that the pulley on the air conditioner compressor was wobbling and making the noise. My son-in-law luckily knew a local repair facility that he trusted and we took the car to them. They confirmed that it needed a compressor kit, which he could not get until Monday. On Monday, they contacted me because their electronic test indicated that the secondary battey was bad. I had not even known that the car had a secondary battery, and Lenexa Automotive seems to have missed that diagnosis and replaced the primary battery that did not need replacing. We drove my daughters car back to KC on Sunday. On Tuesday, 9/10, my daughter drove our car back to KC after the repair. On 9/11, she drove her car back to Omaha. I wanted to give Lenexa Automotive an opportunity to respond to the mis-diagnosis, hoping not to have to write this, so I visited Lenexa Automotive on 9/13. Mike Fromholtz was not in, so I explained the situation to the two men there and they said they would contact Mike and request that he call me. No phone call was received, so I called again on 9/16 and was told they would call Mike's cell and request that he contact me. I have not received that call. Mike seems to have chosen not to respond to my requests to discuss this situation. I suggest that future customers of Lenexa Automotive give consideration to this situation before trusting Lenexa Automotive with their vehicles.
