Review content:
A friend of mine recommended these guys and was mortified when she heard what happened. Didn't work out so well, so be careful dealing with them.\r \r Here's the text of my BBB complaint:\r \r They ruined my sofa, attempted to deliver it in that condition without my approval, then sent me an invoice for delivery and disposal fees.\r \r On Friday, May 2nd, Rainbow Upholstery picked up my sofa and took it to their shop for reupholstering. On Monday, May 6, I went to talk to them about materials and labor to get an idea of project cost. Upon thinking further about it, I decided not to recover the couch. Since I had not received a quote or signed any contract, I asked them on Tuesday, May 7 to deliver it to my home and made it clear that I expected to cover their costs for delivery.\r \r When I called the next day to arrange the delivery, I was told that my sofa now had my name was written in huge letters, in indelible marker, across the back of it. I was never informed that the couch would be marked in this way when they took charge of it. I told the manager I would call him back later that day when I could discuss it further. I could not reach him after 2 attempts, and he did not return my calls. Instead, the sofa was delivered to my home the next morning, Thursday, May 9.\r \r The manager and I had not discussed or agreed upon what to do next before the sofa was delivered, and as it had been irreparably defaced, the sofa was worthless in this condition. I refused the delivery and the men drove away without protest, taking the sofa with them.\r \r I reached the manager to speak about this two hours later, and was informed that in addition to ruining my sofa, Rainbow would be charging me delivery fees. I found this unreasonable, but I understand that they are running a business and people make mistakes, so asked the manager if he could suggest a more equitable resolution. He could not, so I suggested he absorb the labor charges for reupholstering my sofa, and I offered to purchase the required materials from his shop. He refused to consider this and admonished me for even suggesting it.\r \r I remained polite and asked the manager to contact me if he could agree to any form of resolution. He did not contact me.\r \r Six weeks later, I received invoice #13-5926, (dated incorrectly on 6/7) for delivery fees of $135.00 - in addition to - a disposal fee of $50.00 that was never previously mentioned.\r \r So I started with a sofa. Now I have no sofa and an invoice for $185.00 from Rainbow Upholstery & Furniture Co. In the likely event that they ""dispose"" of this sofa by reupholstering and selling it, they could end up with about $1385.00 in revenue from this deal.
