Review content:
Things started out great. I was attempting to buy a bank-owned fixer upper house with a const-to-perm loan. Gil was super great/helpful at the beginning, getting me work estimates quickly and sounding knowledgeable and having good reviews, so I chose to go with him. He worked diligently to get my lender all paperwork needed as well. He asked me for a deposit with the contract to get permits, even though he was supposed to be getting paid completely by the bank, but we gave it thinking there was no way we wouldn’t close. However, the property did fall through because it was beyond the condition the lender was comfortable with, and even though it was ME who had pursued/researched this property tirelessly for 6 months and had lost a money through inspections, de-winterization costs, Gil's deposit, etc., Gil felt it was appropriate for HIM to be more upset than I was and at first was very angry and then has refused to acknowledge our contract cancellation form or a request for a partial refund of our deposit (or proof that he began permit applications). If he had been upfront with us in saying that the deposit would not be refundable because of the lost opportunity-cost from scheduling us in and then losing our job, that would be one thing, but he specifically told us in writing it was for permits. In addition, he was very unprofessional and refused to answer three e-mails from us acknowledging the cancellation or a partial refund request (although I am PRETTY sure he will have a response to this review on his website to share with everyone!). Unfortunately my review has nothing to do with his actual work quality, which I hear is great, but I never got the chance to experience it, and due to his disrespect and unprofessional approach once things fell apart, he has lost a potential customer for life.
