Re Frank Hyundai ""Service"" Department, Unethical-Dishonest-Cheating-Liars. If you own a Hyundai, don't get it serviced here. YOU WILL GET RIPPED OFF. I visited the service department for a brake light switch recall which caused the brake lights to not work. Mine were not working. After waiting about an hour in a cramped waiting area with dysfunctional wifi, the service adviser comes out and tells me after the recall work was done the brake lights still did not work. He wanted $99 to diagnose and (if just the light bulbs) another $140. He also made approximately $1000 worth of recommendations, some legit but others were absolutely totally illegitimate and bogus. Skeptical, I told him I couldnt do the brake light repairs today and he went into a big spiel about safety blah blah blah, made me sign a handwritten release (which I was not given a copy of) and we walked outside so I could take delivery. Remarkably, the brake lights worked perfectly! Two months later, the brake lights still work 100% of the time. Meanwhile I've spoken with several ""managers"" at Frank Hyundai, proposing that their apology include performing some of those recommendations they made at their expense. Frank Hyundai's responses throughout have been insulting, offensive and arrogant. Seriously, even if Frank's service department was honest would you really want someone working on your car who doesn't know how to test a brake light for proper function? Very sad to think that such business practices are tolerated in this day and age, or that so many people would (based on trust) simply go with the dealer's bogus recommendations and pay for unnecessary work. Isn't recall work supposed to be free, anyway?
