Review content:
Where to begin is the question I must ask myself? My boyfriend searched and searched online for a great deal on a TV, he read review after review, and finally decided and bought a refurbished 32inch flat screen Toshiba online from bestbuy. The television arrived within a week. I have never seen my boyfriend so excited about anything, it was going to be the new love of his life. The television arrived and was supposed to be signed for. I was the one at the apartment and the doorbell rang, but no one came, and I discovered that UPS had set the TV in the front area of his apartment that had free access to the street, so I had to carry up the TV three flights. After the TV was set up, it stopped working within an hour and a half. Geek squad was called and supposed to arrive the next week. The day came for Geek squad to arrive, but instead of a person, we received a call at 7AM asking what exactly was wrong with the TV. Geek squad told us that he did not have the parts to fix it, so he would have to order them. Another week passed, Geek Squad called again, this time earlier than the week before. They told us the parts for Toshiba were on back order and would not be available until the 90 day warranty was up, but he told us that we could return the TV at any store. Being in Chicago, either of us had a car and had to wait until my boyfriend's sister was available to take us to Best Buy. Finally, we made it to Best Buy and explained what was wrong with the TV, they told us they cannot take refurbished items bought online. We asked for the manager, he said they could not take it back. He called the head of the store, and finally, they said they could take the TV back, shipping and handling refunded also. The whole process took about an hour, when it should have only taken 20 minutes. At the store, my boyfriend was able to get a new TV on sale, but we had to find a ride to pick it up again. Two Lessons of the story 1. do not buy refurbished items, even though they guarantee that there will be no problems. 2. returns at Best Buy are too troublesome. Pros: Electonic Choices Cons: Expensive
