First visit and last: took in a rescue kitty with a certificate from the shelter for a free rabies shot as required by law.\r
The woman on the phone was spontaneous, warm, and caring: discussed soft stool concerns, and visited largely because of her manner. Big Mistake: why she works there is beyond me. She must have been hired as the token caregiver, because the vet I got in rotation had the personality of a cash register. Every sentence had a hook on it as he trolled for potential charges. No informal discussion, no greeting for the cat herself, no treat or petting, just assembly line calculations. Had a crestfallen face when he found that his fecal test was negative; so he wanted to write a ""prescription"" for a deworming agent on general principles. I wouldn't hire him as a dog catcher; if there was a bounty on stray dogs, he'd bring back their pelts. And the broomstick at the cash register was a clone replica, dinging out the charges like a rectal swab up my pocketbook. The ""nice"" lady never mentioned a $50 visit charge for the ""free"" rabies shot. You'd think they would try to make a new customer comfortable with some degree of caring, some time spent that could have been informative. Of course, they had a room chocked with their own version of acceptable pet food. At least he didn't try to sell me styling gel for the kitten. Lose the address. I did. If the others aren't the same, I'm not returning to find out. They tolerate him, and keep the broomstick parked by the door. Judge accordingly.
