I'm skeptical that anyone enjoys taking a cab, but I virtually refuse if it's yellow cab. If I call for a cab pickup to my apartment, more often than not the dispatcher's voice evolves into some sort of shriek and then hangs up on me sans farewell.
The cab shows up either later than predicted, not at all, or they pick someone else up outside of my building - either way there's consistently a frustrated follow up call from me. The few times I've actually progressed to the point of getting into a cab, I feel like I've seen it all. Cabbies in screaming matches with their dispatchers, cabbies asking inappropriate questions, the works.
You run all these risks with any cab, but from my experience you have a better chance of avoiding them with Orange Cab or others...
