Acupuncture Jon-Erik Lido style. Having never had acupuncture, I was a bit nervous to set an appointment, let alone show up for an appointment to have my first round. However, it had been suggested to me for years to try it out for various ailments that didn't seem to respond to conventional medicine. I was able to ignore and forget the symptoms for all those years, because eventually, they went away. Now a bit older and far less patient with things that hold me back from expressing my full potential in both work and life, I found myself coping with a bizarre itching symptom on my right forearm that baffled all who tried to help me. As I had no choice, (the itching was driving me nuts and interfering with my blessed night's sleep): I made my first appointment with Jon-Erik Lido at Balanced Being Acupuncture in NC, and I showed up! Jon-Erik was immediately warm, friendly, easy-going, and possessed a gentle sense of humor. Clearly he was extremely bright, but I knew that beforehand as I had read his blogs and tweets. These qualities made for the perfect recipe for the ideal ""first date"" with acupuncture. Miraculously, my symptoms all but ceased after my very first treatment. Jon-Erik was very clear to point out prior to my appointment that he made no promises, and as others before him, he had no idea what was wrong with my arm. However, with thoughtful analysis of my full and detailed health profile and following an in depth first client interview process, Jon-Erik put together the precise treatment plan of acupuncture that resulted in this great success. I understood, that as with any conventional or non-traditional healthcare/medicine, it is always most effective when combined with other excellent general health practices to be successful. Therefore, I did not cancel my appointment the next day with the conventional allergist. The short of it is that the allergist didn't know either - had never seen such bizarre symptoms in over 40 years of practice (!). But a week later, the allergist finally figured it out with the assistance of his brother, a dermatologist. The critical part here, is that although it is a rare neurological disorder, the studies indicate that of those that have suffered from it have found relief only with acupuncture treatment (!!). Conclusion: I went to see Jon-Erik out of desperation. I found his services to be quite excellent, his prices more than fair, and the results were outstanding. It is, perhaps, pure coincidence that I learned a week later that acupuncture was recommended by Western medical practitioners, but either way, I'm incredibly thankful that I didn't put it off for another day. I feel great! So, please, if you are considering acupuncture, don't put it off. Who knows what great things it can do for you! If you are looking for a licensed acupuncturist, I highly recommend Jon-Erik Lido!
