Review content:
I lived in Seattle for 12 years and engaged in many types of alternative and holistic healthcare so was very excited when I moved back and saw this place in my hometown. But one visit made me determined to never set foot there again and warn others. In a word, their only goal is to make money hand over fist. I spent about 10 min. there during the ""initial consultation"" - only about 2 of which were with the doctor. The other 8 were with a nurse who seemed rushed and distracted and made me repeat my issue to her 4 times. She also wanted to call for every test under the sun, most of which had nothing to do with my problem. When I said I had to watch my budget she replied, ""Oh insurance will pay for it!"" As if all bills go to some magical place where they're instantly taken care of. After I left I took the blood work request to the lab they sent me to and was told it was a good $500 worth of testing. I called her back and she seemed irritated that we had to scale this back. I did the revised tests and then got my bill. Sedona had told me before I made the appointment that they took my insurance (United Health) and had taken my card and charged a co-pay, but now claimed they didn't take it - so I owed them $150! Plus the lab also turned out to be out of network so I also owed them $200. I wrote a letter to the nurse and said this was not going to be easy for me to come up with since I am unemployed, asking they let me know if the tests showed anything before I scraped together another $100 just to come back, and also hoping they might knock the bill down a bit. The response came from their billing department and basically said, ""too bad for you, pay up"". I was appalled, as this flies in the face of what true alternative medicine should be. The goal for anyone who really wants to help people is to find a way to help them, but this bunch is clearly only willing to treat those who can cough up a big, fat wad of cash. I've also since come across someone who used to work there, and his comment about the place was, ""They put on a good show"". There are others who do what these people do and whose prices are reasonable and are truly in it for the right reasons. Seek them out and avoid Sedona.
