If you are in need of solid legal representation in court or just want legal counsel, you can do no better in the Chattanooga area than to contact Mr. Alan Beard. He and his staff are professional, courteous, and compassionate. Cases are not always ‘cut and dried’ simple- in fact, most are not. Mr. Beard took time and care to ensure that as a client, I was well informed of all the likely possible outcomes with respect to my case. Being called to court can be a frightening experience whether the suit is your choosing (divorce/ custody issues) or because of an arrest (criminal charges). I have met many attorneys in the area and have seen many more of them at work through the years. He is the only attorney in Chattanooga that I would recommend to take care of my legal issues or those of people I know. \r

He recently handled a child custody case. The father wanted custody of his children. Tennessee law states that children born out of wedlock remain in the custody of the mother by default if the relationship ends. An uphill battle...After three years in the legal system and a handful of apathetic over-priced attorneys (only interested in getting a retainer fee) and over-worked social workers, Mr. Beard was consulted and hired to handle the case. Two months later, the father was granted full custody. He was aggressive in his arguments due to the details of the case. He took great effort to connect the dots and fill in the blanks of the argument such that the judge clearly saw the dangers to the children...something no one else had done before. He respected the legal system while caring enough for the needs of the client to learn every detail needed to achieve the best outcome for those involved. Our entire family was overjoyed to hear that the father had been granted full custody and the deadbeat mom (yes, they really do exist) would no longer be a negative and unsafe influence on their lives. \r

Mr. Beard has in no small part changed the lives of this family through his professionalism, respect, and compassion. He gave us confidence when we felt all was lost; he gave us hope when we were at wit’s end. We are grateful for him and the services he and his team provided. \r
