spent over a $1000 for upgraded system where you just hit ""exit"" instead of punching in code when leave the house. would not recommend this system because the beeps from the keypad are too loud no matter how you adjust it. idiots at Interlogix who designed the NetworX Series NX-148E LCD Keypad made it so you can do a silent arming of the house when you leave but not when you stay. That is stupid and it should be the other way around-- you don't need silent arming when you leave the house-- you need it when you're going to bed if you want to arm the house when you're inside, because the beep is so loud to arm the house that we cannot use the system because it scares the crap out of anyone who may have gone to bed first or doesn't know you're about to arm the house no matter what floor you're on when you arm the house and no matter floor they are on. so unlike the older system, we never use the system when we're in the house, and when you use the keypad to go in and out of the house the whole thing is too loud and annoying. wish I had never upgraded and had the old system back where you punch in your code before you leave. If there is a way to silently arm the system in the ""Stay"" mode, no one at Home and Commerical who installed the system or at Interlogix who makes the keypad has been able to explain how to do it. If someone broke in to your house the keypad could be half as loud to let them know the house is armed and the alarm is about to go off. The system should have a volume control for the user who has to hear it every day-- it doesn't-- just a control that make the noise a lower or higher pitch which doesn't help at all-- it's bad no matter how you adjust it.
