The previous owner took some items in trade from me for store credit totaling about $40 for a used baby swing and some various other baby items; this occurred a few months back. The previous owner said my credit would be on file and would never expire. \r

Today, I went into the store to redeem my credit and was told that the by the current owner, Tricia Puhr, that any previously given store credit is no longer valid. She claimed that she sent out an email, but no email address was ever collected from me when I traded in my items for credit and no contact had been established with me since trading in my items. The owner proceeded to inform me that their were tens of thousands of dollars of store credit that she would not be honoring. She said if she were to honor the store credit that she would go out of business because the previously issued store credit was worth more than the business. This is theft. \r

My complaint is that the store credit is debt owed. It is no different than a loan; an asset was given with the promise of an asset in return. It is no different than her stealing a baby swing from me. The store credit should be honored. The items that were traded in for store credit by consumers, including myself, became assets that contributed to the value of Golden Child, LLC. That value was reflected in the sale of the business. Not honoring store credit is equal to buying a business and deciding that paying back certain loans is optional because paying them isn't good for the bottom line. I'm not as concerned about my $40 as I am about the plethora of people who are being cheated out of money. It is unfair to consumers to be cheated out of money, regardless of the amount. It is not the fault of innocent consumers that Tricia Puhr made a bad business decision by purchasing a business with more debt than assets and the consumers should not be cheated out of their money because of her mistake. \r

If anyone else is experiencing this issue please report it to the Colorado Attorney General and to the BBB.\r

Aside from my above complaint, the store was not climate controlled and felt way to hot to provide a comfortable shopping experience.
