Mr. Abraham the salesperson and owner of Flooring Concepts in Garland, TX came to my residence to give my husband and I a quote on laminate flooring. During his presentation he brought several samples. From those samples I asked for quotes on 4 of them. During this time I specifically asked Mr. Abraham the millimeters for each peice of flooring. He assured me 2 of them were 10 millimeters and 2 were 14 millimeters. This was important to us because we wanted laminate flooring that was above 7 millimeters. Anything above 7 millimeters makes less noise and is more durable. Later that week I went to his store and chose the Armstrong laminate and asked once again how many millimeters. He again told me 10 millimeters. I kept asking because it looked thin but I took his word for it. At that time on 6/6/2009 we set up the date and time for his contractors to come out and install the flooring. I also signed the contract at that time which did not list the millimeters. The contractors came and installed the flooring the next week which was 6/8/2009. It took three days instead of the two that Abraham claimed but that was not a big deal. Once the flooring was installed I went out to the internet to look up how to care for the floors. At that time I decided to look up Armstrong since those were the type of floors he had installed. Once on the Armstrong website I looked up the type of floors we had chosen and noticed it said these floors were 7 millimeters. I then immediately called Abraham who all of a sudden changed his story around agreeing with the website that they were 7 millimeters. I told him he had lied to me because he told me it was 10 millimeters. He then began trying to explain to me the millimeters don't matter and Armstrong is a good product. I told him I understand but for a couple hundred dollars more I could have gotten the 14 millimeter laminate he showed me. I also told him he lied to me just to sell me Armstrong flooring. He then claimed he was going to contact Armstrong to see if there was anything they could do. I did not understand why he would need to call them when he was the one that lied and said the floors were 10 millimeters. However I let him go ahead and do what he claimed he was going to do. Several days later and after several of my phone calls to him, even though he said he would call me back. He claimed there was nothing Armstrong could do but he would send me a check for $150 for his mistake which really wasn't enough but I agreed to take it because I wanted this nightmare to end. This promise was made on 6/15/2009. It is now 7/8/2009 and I have not received a check nor heard from Mr. Abraham. I have called and left messages at flooring concepts but no return call has been made. I would like for people to know Abraham cannot be trusted and he will tell you what you want to hear to make a sell. Even if it is not the truth. Buyer beware. Pros: Friendly(fake) Cons: Liar
