Shop somewhere else. I can bet this is one of the most expensive places in the Bay Area. $270+ dollars for single vision lenses, $119 exam, $200 contact lenses sitting. Sometimes you can find the same products and procedures 4 (four!) times less expensive, even in radius of 10 miles from this place.
So after checking the prices and relying on the old saying ""what you pay that's what you get"" I decided to order my special cycling glasses in the ""Optometric Design Danville"". I had insurance to cover the exam and lenses so I did't care much about the prices. I was told it will take a week to get them ready. The week turned into 10 days and finally I got my glasses ... just to find out they made them wrong. I went back and could not get to the doctor right a way and needed to schedule an appointment to come back one more time. After one more exam turned out mine 1.25 prescription went in to the a lab as 0.25. Lab is in Minnesota and it is at least 7-8 days turn around. Bit the hell out of me why they can not use local California lab. I got an apology from the doctor and promise to have my glasses re-done in the local lab within two days. I waited 3 days and went to check on my glasses (just to remind you this is would be my 3rd week waiting for the glasses). This time I was told that glasses are not ready as they shipped them again to .... that's right - Minnesota. So much for the ""we will fix it for you in two days"" I was told there is nothing they can do and all I have left is to wait. No apology or any sort of compensation was even offered to me.
Bottom line. This place is extremely overpriced with non-professional personnel. Do your glasses somewhere else.
P.S. I received a call from this place telling me that they will do special delivery for me. Timing is everything in customer service. I wish they they told me this when I was there.
I called again to the store today. Glasses are not ready. I find out not only they did my glasses wrong, they also wrote me a wrong prescription. I ordered another pair of glasses somewhere else based on that prescription. When I asked ""Optometric Design Danville"" how come they wrote me wrong prescription the lady on the phone kept repeating the same idiocy ""because your prescription has changed"" . No an apology , not regrets and finally she told me she is hanging up on me.
STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE AT ALL COST!
Pros: very good location
Cons: expensive, unprofessional, VERY poor customer service
