I took a trip to Petco looking to buy the water that is used by the guys from the show Tanked on Animal Planet. In talking with the employee from Petco I found out the name of the seawater mix was called Nutri-SeaWater. I was told Petco does not carry the water, but there is one place in San Antonio that does. The Petco employee told me about South Seas Aquatics. \r
I decided to take a trip to South Seas Aquatics. I am glad that I decided to go. Upon walking in the store I was shocked by how clean the tanks were. The fish and coral looked incredible healthy and happy. After talking with the owner Gary, I found that he really knows his stuff, cares about his fish, and displayed amazing customer service. Gary explained to me that he always makes sure his fish are healthy and eating well otherwise he will not sell them. The store uses several quarantine tanks for new or unhealthy fish to ensure the fish are taken care of, and customers end up with healthy fish. Anyone that has a saltwater tank knows how important it is to be really picky when it comes to adding anything to a tank. It has been about a month since I first discovered this store, and have visited 20 other stores in San Antonio, and have found that South Seas Aquatics has the lowest prices. They carry a wide variety of saltwater fish, coral, live rock, live sand, and many other items that the hobbyist will need to maintain a fish only or a reef tank. I will continue to take my business to South Seas Aquatics as I love the low prices, great service, and great stock.
