Do not bring your car to this place. We've all heard the stereotype that car mechanics screw you. Well this place proves that the notion isn't a stereotype - it's pure fact. My girlfriend brought her car here after her shifter got jammed. The owner ran the diagnostic (a nice $50 charge in itself) and proclaimed that the car needed 3 different cables to be fixed. Parts, labor, ... $600+. A little money pinch forced us to seek other options. The guy gave us the names of the three cables we supposedly ""needed"", and we went out and bought them on our own. $120 for all three. So, he was basically charging us $500 for labor, which was about 5 hours. Luckily my gf's father knew an honest mechanic. After one 10 minute inspection, he found that all that was wrong with the car was a CLAMP that needed be replaced on ONE of the cables. An hour later, the car was fixed and completely perfect. So the meineke car guys most likely were going to charge us for the cables and stock them for use in the future on a car that actually NEEDED them. Legal criminal activity right there in my opinion. We brought back all three cables we had purchased, so the end result was $100 to the guy who fixed it basically just as a thank you gesture. Now I don't know if the meineke guys are idiots or just crooks, but do NOT bring your car here if you don't like getting screwed.
