Thank you Dr. Joseph! \r Today our 11 year old Black Lab, Teddy, had the cyber knife stereotactic radiation procedure for a meningioma (brain tumor) at the Animal Specialty Center in Yonkers, NY. Teddy’s doctor, Dr. Richard Joseph, was fabulous, as was the entire staff at ASC. Teddy was diagnosed with the tumor at NC State (we live in NC) and we traveled to NY because ASC is only one of three facilities in the US that has cyber knife. Instead of weeks of radiation treatments, only 1 or 3 treatments is required. And, happily, Teddy only needed one treatment. My husband and I are so glad we chose ASC for Teddy’s cyber knife treatment. \r \r As an aside, as we were waiting for Teddy to finish his treatment this morning, a couple brought their Dalmatian into the Animal Specialty Center. It turns out that the two year old dog had suffered a 60 foot fall and had broken his back in April and was brought to the ASC for treatment since it was such a serious situation. Today was his final re-visit as he bounced around the office at full speed! About a dozen staff members and doctors came out to hug the dog and the owners goodbye. Some had tears of joy in their eyes because they were so happy that the dog had done so well. This Center is full of people who truly care about the animals they treat…\r
