Review content:
We began with a red Spanish wine and an Italian semi-soft cheese acompanied by almond toast and blackberries. The pairing of fruit, toast, and wine made for an intruiging conversation of flavors, while the cheese itself offered the last creamy word on texture. For entrees, we hedged our bets, with my companion sampling the sauteed turbot dish surrounded by an intruiging couscous while I salivated over perfectly prepared duck nesting in sumptuous risotto. The quality of these dishes and the care taken in the selection and use of their superb ingredients convinced us that we could have ordered anything on the short menu and been equally satisfied. Our pallates satiated, we unwound with a post-coital white chocolatte cake. The cool, calming sensation of this desert was the perfect conclusion to an epic meal.
