Review content:
Living in southern Virginia, I'm halfway between two hospitals - Memorial of Martinsville, which is probably most popular around here, and Morehead, which is only slightly farther away. Having experienced both, when it was time for my daughter to be born - and then for my gallbladder to be removed only a month later - I insisted on being admitted at Morehead.
The facilities at Morehead are surprisingly modern for an older hospital located in a small town, and the Birthing Center is especially lovely - more like a hotel than a hospital, with complete rooming-in of mother and child. The hospital's Hospice center is only slightly less lavish, with many home-y touches to make families feel more at home in their surroundings.
The staff at Morehead is extremely friendly, helpful and knowledgeable, easing the jitters that necessarily accompany any hospital stay and answering questions fully and honestly.
Like most Emergency Rooms, Morehead's has a tendency toward crowding and long waits,
