i've been faxing somewhat time-sensitive contracts back and forth long distance (just moved from another state; my house was sold after the move). the first fax from my realtor didn't come in at all. so he tried again. and again. and then he tried faxing from a different machine. and the fax *still* didn't arrive. now, we were standing at kinko's waiting for this fax the whole time. the kinkoan didn't seem concerned or, frankly, particularly interested at all in the fact that his fax machine wasn't working. we weren't given any indication that it would ever be repaired. instead, we were instructed (without apology) that if we needed the fax, we should drive down to the south pasadena location. (aside: we did, and the fax came through ok -- but then we couldn't *outbound* fax. i'm thinking it's because the out-of-state fax machine was still tied up trying to talk to the first kinko's.)
