Can't believe had truck there 2 days & the engine now idles too high! Estimates for "coolant system" are high just to flush the radiator & refill with antifreeze (something I've had done routinely since I owned the truck as new in 1987). Same with cost for washing engine, which I have done on my own in the past when shown how in the past. I can locate a wash & do it myself for about 1/3 the cost. While Ron was more respectful with me, James made it sound like not changing the antifreeze would cause the engine to fall out. Am aware the replacements of the shocks is about what the estimate is due to the cost of the parts. Just in case you weren't aware, I routinely brought in my vehicles at the Sheriff's Office, catching problems others driving them had not. I'm not ignorant nor totally dependent on your explanations because I had some gray hair! Noticed the customers coming back in because problems had not been fixed were all senior citizens & when the problem was given to a mechanic on duty it was in a very sarcastic manner. The lack of respect for them was noted quickly by me. In chatting with others after the first visit and telling them the engine was idling too high, along with huge costs for labor, I was told by them to never do business with you. These were people in the neighborhood who gave me that informed information. Will be consulting with 2 other certified mechanics I know personally to see who they recommend for the remainder of the work & showing them the paperwork I was given. While Ron was polite with me, I think James thought he was dealing with a dumb senior woman. I read people & body language & speech--had extensive training and certification in my past, along with having that be one of the primary functions in my job. It comes naturally now. Right now I'm feeling very ripped off & treated condescendingly. I treated your people with respect; I anticipated you would do the same. Please cancel the future appt. I had set.
