I have a 2002 Ford Taurus -- some would suggest that this alone manifests my poor judgment.\r \r Most recently, the car's engine would shut off while driving -- sometimes on the freeway and sometimes not. Usually for three to ten seconds and then come back on.\r \r I took the car to Veracom Ford in San Mateo. They charged me $130 to diagnose the problem and told me that the car's computer was bad. I did not believe this, but they said they were certain. They said that they would have to order the computer and it would take a few days to arrive. I picked up the car and drove it home BEFORE the new computer arrived and the problem was gone.\r \r I returned to the station when the new computer arrived and explained that the problem was gone and the service manager told me that it was probably merely not manifesting itself as frequently and he strongly suggested replacing the computer, which I allowed them to do for $670.\r \r The car had the exact same problem again AFTER leaving with the ne
