I have been to Several P F Changs, Elsegundo, Palo Alto..to name a couple, and enjoyed the experiance, found the Food to be good, and staff to be friendly..but NOTthe case in Santa Monica.
PF Changs is really American food, but they have an Asian twist and flavour to the menu in sort of a comfortable Steak house type atmosphere with Asian decore, and overall they do a nice job, My wife is Asian, and I have been to Asia several times, so I think I have some knowledge of this.
I live 2 blocks from the P F Changs in Santa Monica, one night I called for reservations, but was told I didnt need one, the wait wasnt long, just walk over when I was ready and tey would seat us, so we finished a glass of wine at home and walked over, at which point we were given a pager and told it would be aprox 30 minutes..2.5 hours later we were still waiting and people were going in in front of us who had just arrived, I asked two "hostess's" at the counter who were more busy laughing and giggling to them selves than working and in a snotty attitude was we were told "Oh, They made a reservation"...when, I explaned what the situation was they had no response.. I asked for the manager, 15 minutes later she arrived, spoke to them for a few minutes first and then appeared to have an attitude before she even spoke to me, I started to explain and she said "Did you just call me here to complain?"..I said "WEll..yes, isnt that your job?"..she said well if thats all you want please leave leave the resturant, the hostess told you the rules"....I have never been asked to leave any resturant in my life..but promise you I will NEVER return to that one again...it was the rudest treatment I have ever received, in ANY buisness establishment.
