Hi-I saw Joe Hamer on tv-the switch-I have been a stylist, since 1968,in New York,Texas,Arizona,New Mexico & Colorado & also was a NM Cosmetology Instructor-I really enjoyed the show-loved Joe Hamer Salon-what a lovely person he appears to be! I read all the reviews here,& want to comment on the negative ones-especially,the 1 from the New Yorker-how sad,to make such a comment,on a fellow professional! I recall years ago,the competition between New Yorkers versus Californians-after living out west, coming from NY,I must say, this person's attitude,is what gives some New Yorker's a bad name-I happen to love the west,& the people-& am a firm believer in you receive what you put out-anywhere! Does not matter-London, Berlin-US or Europe-people,are not all that different-I personally, would LOVE to be younger,to be able to train with someone the caliber of Joe Hamer,& work in such a salon-I know from years in the business, you cannot please everyone-not everyone is going to like you-but,it's not mature,as a customer,to try to ""trash"" a business-& to trash a colleague,is not professional-we work hard-& as I always told my clients-if you have any problem-tell me-don't complain to others! I found the best solution to avoid this-is to consult first-in depth-if I saw a client-or myself-was unclear about a service,I'd ask until it WAS clear-never assume anything-customers share a responsibility also in their services,as do we professionals.Maybe in the future, more communication would help the New Yorker-rather than cop an attitude, some gentler more tactful dialogue would have prevented walking away so dissatisfied! Remember the song,""Try a Little Tenderness""? It really is effective!! Joe Hamer-keep up the great work-I think your wonderful!
