Review content:
I went to a different dentist first for my checkup, i paid $80 for my x-rays and cleaning. They told me i needed work done so i told my mom and my mom said i am covered under her insurance. So i went to Brea Dental Group despite all of the terrible reviews about overpricing and billing because after all i had insurance so i didn't care what it costs. So i had a second checkup, the dentist said i have the same cavities but then he said you need a deep cleaning and looks like the beginning of gingivitis. They wanted to charge me an additional $575 not covered by my insurance! The first dentist said i have great gums and did my cleaning already (duh) so i told them that i just wanted to get what my HMO was going to pay for which was the fillings (3) so they didn't like that. They told me the earliest appointment was in the end of August, I went in on June 13th, that's almost 3 months later. If i have cavities why am i going to wait 3 months to get them fixed? I will need a root canal by then! I tried to get on their cancellation list so that they would see me in case someone canceled. I kept trying to call once a day (2 days in a row) and see if there was any cancellations. The lady from the front office called me back on the second day and told me ""I know why you want to get your teeth done so soon, i just looked over your insurance and you don't have insurance, you thought we weren't going to find out, well guess what we are going to send you a bill for $350 for your checkup"" basically calling me dishonest and threatening me with a outrageous bill. I explained to the lady that i was just added to the policy and that Cigna had called there to let them know i am covered. I wasn't in their list yet because i was just added. These people are the real crooks trying to charge me $575 for a cleaning that i just had done and some shots in my gums for gingivitis i didn't have! Pros: New equipment. Cons: They will try to sell you undercoating for your car and then insult you.
