Review content:
I have been to many Thai Restaurants in San Rafael and was pretty happy with two of them: Citrus and Spice, and Royal Thai. Citrus and Spice was a bit more expensive and was about the same quality as Royal Thai so I ended up going to Royal Thai frequently. Thep Lela is WAY better than both of these but you got to pay for it. It's is about 40% more than Royal Thai but about twice as good of food in my opinion. The service is good, not outstanding but good. The restaurant has a delightful atmosphere; tranquil, classy yet surprisingly unpretentious. The food is made with quality ingredients, the portions are smaller than other thai restaurants but it's still more than enough. I have tried both the Pad Thai and the Yellow Curry with chicken (my two favorite thai dishes) and both are very good. It seems like the kind of place that everything on the menu is good though so I wouldn't be afraid to try something new.
Pros: Great food, decent place to eat at
Cons: a bit expensive
