Review content:
I was shopping last year for a string trimmer and first bought an Echo GT-225 at Home Depot. I had never used a curved-shaft trimmer before and thought it would be fine, but I didn't like the head that came with it. I went to Milbradt to get a universal fit head since Home Depot didn't carry the one I wanted. I brought it home and used it once, then decided it wasn't for me. HD took back the trimmer with no problems, but when I went back to Milbradt to return the head (since I wouldn't need it anymore), I was told all sales are final, and I am stuck with a universal head I can't use.
I ended up buying the SRM-225 (straight-shaft) when I thought I was going to be able to use a manufacturer's rebate from Echo, only to be told that Milbradt doesn't participate in those programs. I lucked out, though, because I had come in when they had a Father's Day sale that brought the price down lower than it would have been with the rebate, so I was happy. They took the trimmer downstairs, fueled it up, strung the head, and tested it before bringing it to me, which was nice. The sales guy was super nice, even though I was buying one of their cheaper items.
I wish their return policies were a little more lenient and closer to that of big box stores, which would make me more likely to purchase accessories from them in the future. Instead, I'll stick to places where I know I can return a product if I'm not happy with it.
