Well How to start this?\r
\r
I bought my first watch at James and Sons in December 05 and I did not really know much about the quality one should expect from a Watch dealer then. I went in and looked at a few tags and a few Tissot's and finally picked up a black Tissot T-Race out of the rest of them. I needed it sized but James and Sons did not have a person working at the time so I was told to come back the next day. I called them the next day and after being on hold for about 5mins I was told the person that does the sizing was off that day also, So I call back the day after that and finally spoke to the manager and he said to just come back and he will do it. I went back and he cut the rubber band to the size I needed, but later on I looked at the cut at it was not in a strait line, in fact I probably could of done a better job myself. Regardless of the price on my Tissot ($350) being ""low"" scale the people at James and Sons atleast in my mind should of been alittle more strait and truthful about the sizing, also alot better with the cut they made.\r
\r
I also received a few phone calls later after from the people there telling me about slaes events..just what I wanted another telemarketer calling me..\r
\r
I believe they stopped carrying the Tissot brand and only sell Rolex and Tag (not sure of other brands), and I stopped carrying the Tissot on my wrist and carry Panerai and Breitling now..\r
\r
I went on to buy four other watchs from other Chicago Dealers (each watch ranging from $1500 to $5,500) and have gotten much better service even when I would stop by just to see cheaper brands like Tissot.\r
\r
\r
the people there are pretty nice overall, alittle pushy but what can you expect. they offer you something to drink which is nice and even the guard says Hello to you when you walk in. I did not like the service after I bought the watch but up until then the place was great. \r
\r
\r
I hope they read this to improve for future customers.
Pros: the building is rite next to Borders, where you can buy a nice Watch magazine and find better dealers around the area
Cons: the worest was the phone calls telling me about sales events when I did not give them permission.
