My 10 month old Papillon had a seizure on a Sat. & we had to take him to the emergency vet hospital. He's never had one before, in fact I had no idea what was wrong I just knew something wasn't right & rushed him to the ER. That's where we were told he more than likely had a very mild siezure. The following week we took him to Julington Creek to have a follow-up along with my 2 yr. old Beagle to have his butt glands expressed. \r
I just moved to JAX a few months ago & I've been looking for a full time vet to bring all of my animals. Dr. Rod Winchester Jr. saw my animals. Him & the vet tech seemed very nice. I was very impressed with the upkeep of the grounds & the hospital itself. Everything was very nice & clean inside. They even have a seperate waiting room for cats!! It's great.\r
He took the time to explain everything I needed to know & gave me information on epilepsy in dogs. They also have a doggy daycare & resort with pool! right next door. It looks very nice & unique. \r
This was the very first time I had been to this vet, my bill was $111.34. The majority of that was for the 6 month supply of heartworm & frontline I bought. They only charged me $10.05 for my beagles butt glands ( Switzerland Animal Hospital charged $27!!!) & there was NO CHARGE for even looking at my Papillon on the receipt!!!\r
There are several other Vets there & I'm sure they are great, but I can't personally speak for them. But Dr. Rod Winchester & Julington Creel Animal Hospital will be our permanent Vet here in Jax.
Pros: Nice Bldg., Clean, Nice staff, Affordable for my specific reasons for going
Cons: Couldn't make appointment unless it was for vaccines. Had to be walk-in (Only for this Vet though)
