Review content:
My Daughter has never had to see an eye doctor before. We have always seen the family doctor. But today I needed to have her seen by an eye doctor due to a possible injury to her eye. The female doctor at Irwin Eye Care was horrible! She was very rude and short with my daughter from the beginning. When she asked my daughter what eye was bothering her my daughter thought for a second and said ""right"". This woman looked at my daughter and in a very degrading tone says ""well, I would think you would know your right from your left, but that was a good guess I suppose"" then rolled her eyes at my daughter. Without any warning and without an explanation to me or my daughter she came at my daughter with a Q-tip and put dye into my daughters' eye. This frightened my daughter (because she didn't know what the woman was going to do) and she jumped back. The doctor snapped and said ""it's JUST dye!!! I need to put it in your eye, come here!!"" Then she snapped at my daughter and told her to put her face into the chin strap on her exam equipment. My daughter was confused and did not know where she needed to be. So this woman snaps at her again and yells ""WHAT DON'T YOU UNDERSTAND??"" I then had enough of this woman degrading my daughter, treating her like she was stupid, and talking to her like she didn't matter. I explained to the doctor that my daughter has NEVER been to an office like this and that piece of equipment looks weird and confusing to any child the first time! Finally her tone calmed down a little. THEN I don't know what she did but she did something that made my daughter jump back and yell ""OUCH!"". The doctor litterally threw her hands in the air and yelled ""what's the problem?!"" At this point my daughter was crying from pain and being scared to death about what this horrible doctor might do next. I ended the exam when the doctor said ""I don't see anything in her eye"" in a nasty tone. I will NEVER use this eye doctor again!! And I would suggest no one with kids every use this woman. She has no idea how to treat kids and she has a horrible bedside manner. I trusted this office to treat my daughter and myself with care and respect. Instead my daughter was yelled at, degraded, made to feel stupid, then tortured. Shame on you Irwin Eye Care for making this horrible experience my daughters' first experience with an eye doctor! I have already apologized to my daughter for their horribe behavior and for the fact that I didn't stop the exam sooner!
