Being a new patient to this office I was impressed with the cleanliness of the beautiful new space and had a pleasant first appointment with Dr. Smelcer. Looking forward to returning, I had scheduled an appointment with the front desk for my next appointment just a few weeks later. \r As I was dropping my son off at my moms and on my way to meet my husband for the appointment (exciting time, first ultrasound!) I received a call from the office...they were calling to cancel my appointment an hour before I was scheduled to be there! The reason...the doctor I was scheduled to see got called in for a delivery! When I returned the call to the office the receptionist asked when I would like to reschedule my appointment as there would be no one else to see me. I asked if it was normal practice for ON CALL DOCTORS to have scheduled appointments...she replied ""YES, and since we have 2 locations only two doctors are in each office at a time."" She also preceded to talk down to me by commenting they could not predict when babies will be born as if I needed to hear that! \r After my husband lost a half a day of work, my mother lost a half a day of work to watch my son and the time I spent arranging schedules to meet this appointment I find it absolutely rediculous they would not have a back up doctor on staff when the on call doctors must leave. \r I will not be returning to this office and have scheduled another appt with another office who assured me they do not practice this way! Unfortunately my husband will now have to miss this first ultrasound and I must scramble to find childcare arrangements last minute for my next appt.
