Review content:
While the decor is typically not my style, this charming former schoolhouse is the only place I will stay upon returning to Coeur D'Alene. At first glance, I was afraid to touch anything, as all the interior resembles a model home, though the owners' friendly nature quickly put me at ease. The rooms are comfortable and clean with a private bath and the rate, starting at $89/night includes a freshly prepared breakfast each morning. The Roosevelt allows guests to borrow a book to read, DVD to watch (TV in the basement) and beverages and snacks at any time. It is a quick walk to the lake and to Sherman Drive, the town's main drag offering a healthy selection of restaurants, bars, galleries and shops. With two dogs on site, it is also pet friendly.
