Review content:
I'm sure I might get flagged but just had to vent. I took my pug in to Paws & Claws because she wasn't eating and got very, very sick within three days, we've been going there since she was a puppy, 6 weeks old. We took her in with the intention of putting her down so she wouldn't suffer because it was clear that she was suffering from something and didn't seem like she was going to make it another day. We gave them 130.00 to have her put down, my kids are terribly upset about her being put down and not having her in our family anymore. The vet comes back in and says she's not ready to put her down because it could be something very simple, but wasn't sure what it was. She asked us to give up ownership to her so that she could do what needed to be done without calling us for everything that needed to be done and would be able to purchase her back if she made it through. When they weren't calling us about updates we called them just to find out how she was doing. They then told us that we weren't allowed to call to find out how she was doing because she was no longer ours. They did say that she was very septic and had matter in her stomach and they would try to do surgery. The next phone call we got was the vet calling us on Friday October 10th saying if you want her back you need to pay 5,266.00 by Monday the 13th at noon or else she's going to another family that will not have to pay that money to adopt her, just an adoption fee. My kids and I are extremely upset because she's our family and don't want her going to someone else, we want her back. We're not asking for money because I've seen so many people post things like that to help people get their animals, I'm really just venting because I think it's ridiculous that they won't even offer a payment plan or possibly even write of any of the costs because that's what they will do with the family that will be adopting her. If you ever have a situation like this, please don't go to Paws & Claws.
