Owners Jeanette and Richard Guthrie have NO CLUE what the words Customer Service mean; even though they boast of it on their web-site. Neither Jeanette nor Richard would talk with me on the phone (a 12 year resident of Galt). Instead they have their young daughter handle my multiple calls, a daughter that is feels ?The customer is always wrong?\r \r My son?s car was totaled and towed to their Galt facility on the 5th of November 2008. On the 6th I contacted J&D and talked with the daughter to find out what happens if we sign the title over to J&D. I was under the impression that doing so, there would be no fees due. I gave the title to my son to handle, who lives in Lodi and could not get a ride until the 11th (I believe).\r \r On December 2nd I received a collection notice for $441.10 I called J & D and talked with the daughter who said she never told me there would be no fees due. She assured me she has been doing this job since she was 13 years old and she always tells the customers the same thing which is ?towing fees are still due, storage fees will not stop accruing until the signed title is in our hands?. Believe me that information was not communicated to me. If it had been explained to me in that way, I would have gotten the title to them on November 7th (my day off) and I would have paid the balance due.\r \r On my 3rd conversation with the daughter (Jeanette not available, again), I asked for the following: 1) Provide me with a copy of your ?Posted Fees? for towing after hours and daily storage fees. 2) Stop the storage fees at November 7th (the day I could have gotten the title to J & D, if I knew fees were still accruing), and 3) a itemized bill showing the credit for the salvaged 2004 Chevrolet Impala. \r \r I received a call back from the daughter the next day and she said ?she talked with Jeanette, who is still not available to talk with you and she is not interested in negotiating with you at this time?.
