We contacted Christie's for a whole house remodel and large addition. At our first meeting, we wanted to know if we could do the project for our budgeted amount and if we needed a space planner to help develop plans. Steve said he could do the plans and that we could do the project for our budgeted amount. He wanted money up front to start working on the plans, so trusting him we gave him a check. After several meetings, we realalized he was making the addition smaller without changing the budget, that the plans did not have the things we talked about, the layouts did not make sense and were poorly done, and that his price per square foot did not come close to the total amount budgeted...it was way over. So, we contacted him with our concerns and asked for a refund minus the work he did in order to hire a space planner. He agreed to refund 1/3 of the payment. We paid a lot of money for nothing, and are left to start over. Based on this experience he is unprofessional and we would not recommend his services, especially design work. We believe in paying people for their work, however, you should not say you can do something you are not capable of and then make the customer pay for it.
