This is what happened:\r I started receiving phone calls from this Home Depot about 3 weeks ago. I usually don't answer unknown numbers, but after they didn't stop, I decided to see what was going on.\r I found out that someone had rented equipment using my phone number, so i politely informed the store worker that they had the wrong number. I though it was over and thay would try to contact the real person to get their stuff back, but i started to get calls again.\r Today I called in the morning and spoke with someone explaining this situation and asked them to stop calling me. after confirming the rest of their contact information did NOT match mine, they assured me i would not receive any more calls. . . they called me around 2pm.\r I spoke with another worker from the equipment rental place and filled him in on everything I just wrote here, but he didn't believe me. He even lied to me and said this was the first time I was being called, but when I told him I had voicemail recordings of other times they called, he shut-up pretty quick.\r He explained that all the information they had on the customer who rented, was verified by checking his ID. I told him that he should go after the person's address, but also that it wasn't me. He then explained in a focalmness that that was fine, and that he would be sending my contact information on to the debt collectors! I asked him to repeat himself to make sure I understood him correctly, and then I called to speak with a manager, and make sure i was speaking to a legitimate store location, and not some scam artist imposters. It was legit.\r Besides that, I spoke with the Asst. Man. and also HD's online chat; neither of which were able to give me an address to write in a formal letter. I am not giving up. The worse thing, is that I am afraid adfter speaking with the online chat, that this is just the status quo for the entire business. Pros: None that have been shown to me Cons: I was THREATENED by the staff! Horrible customer service.
