Don't let the name cafe fool you, there is absolutely no food available except for the tin trash can full of peanuts in the corner across from the men's head. They are free of charge however as long as you agree to not take them out onto the street. There are plenty of televisions and always the local game is on, or something else worth watching. My biggest likes about it are the peanut shells all over the floor along with the cigarette butts. It is the most relaxed bar on Harford road and the bartender Skip is one of the best bartenders in Baltimore as far as I am concerned. They have an extensive selection of beers including some microbrews that are beyond difficult to find on tap anywhere else along with some nice belgian choices. Don't go if you are looking for mixed drinks or good wine because it just isn't here. There is a decent liqour store adjacent to the place that is open seven days a week and you can get carry out right up until last call. The prices are solid and you can either have a loud rowdy drunken party or a quiet night at the end of the bar without worrying about anyone bothering you. There is a pool table in the back that is beyond help but you can still get a pretty good game on it if you can read the breaks. There is also a beer garden in the back but there are some strict rules about conduct out there. However it is nice to have a little green place to drink in the spring and summer, especially in the middle of Harford Road. Solid. Pros: Great and rare beers on tap, do what you want atmosphere. Cons: No food, can be hot in summer.
