Pentimento used to be one of my favorite jewelry stores. Everything was so beautiful and unique and the service was top notch. Unfortunately, things have changed over there, and I had what I can only describe as an infuriating experience. I tried to have a custom piece made, and to say I was treated rudely is definitely an understatement. Not only did the woman we were working with try to persuade us to change our design to compensate for her lack of skill, but we later found out that the suggestions she made would have made the piece FALL APART with regular wear. On top of that, she tried to overcharge us big time, and when she did decide to return a phone call (rarely), she was loud, belligerent, and seemingly unable to listen. It's a same that a place with such gorgeous designs has lost any type of customer service, but I can say that I will never shop there again. There are other stores with gorgeous work that actually treat their customers like they want to do business with them. Run, don't walk ,to another jeweler if you want something custom made.
Pros: Vintage-like pieces
Cons: TERRIBLE customer service, lack of knowledge regarding jewelry construction
