I have to commend CM's staff for their honesty, their knowledge of computers, and their willingness to help me (two-fold reasons). They were extremely honest in that they told me up front that my computer (which was ancient) might not be worth fixing, but that they would examine it, provide an estimate for each option, and let me decide what to do with it. They did exactly that, and it was determined that the motherboard had been "fried" during a power surge; it shouldn't have happened, as I had it on a surge strip, but I'd had an upgrade done by a private party and he'd jumpered something incorrectly. They provided me with a statement of exactly what was wrong for my insurance company, if I chose to submit it. The second portion of the helpfulness for which I must commend them: I was backed-into while attempting to pull out of their lot.
