My wife brought our 1 year old Maltese into the Animal Emergency Hospital of Holly Hill for treatment. Initially the charge was $322.00. They insisted all additional charges up to the maximum of $1200.00 be paid for in advance. My wife presented a Visa credit/debit card and an American Express for the full charges. They said find an ATM. She tried to write a check for charges to that point, get the dog and leave but they said no checks over $300.00. They said without payment in full she would not be allowed to take the dog. Holding an animal hostage for payment is not legal. I told them to punch the Visa card in and it worked. I took the dog to the Banfield Animal Hospital in Pet Smart at Palm Coast Florida the following day. They treated him for $117.00. I would recommend Banfield and Animal Emergency Clinic at 3500 W highway 92 in Daytona Beach. Whatever you do STAY AWAY from Animal Emergency Hospital of Holly Hill or their affiliate in St Augustine. They are the same people. They co
