Yesterday I took my pet into Sylvania Veterinary Hospital because she was unable to keep food/water down. She had vomited more than six times in less than 24 hours and is a small dog, so she can become dehydrated quickly. The veterinarian took her temperature and pushed on her stomach. Since there was no cramping or tightness, they sent me home with some medicine for her and some food. If she got sick again, I was to bring her back the next day for an x-ray. No actual tests were performed while I was there.\r

This morning, the dog had vomited three more times and had bowel problems three times. I decided to take her to another veterinarian at a different location since I didn't feel that she was looked at closely enough. Within five minutes, they were able to determine that my dog had a severe bowel infection and within 15 minutes determined her liver count was extremely high. She was also extremely dehydrated.
